Riding, riding lessons, riding holiday - Riding school in Chrani
instructed by Iris Bahlinger
Riding centre 'Peripetia' in Chrani:
Our riding school 'Peripetia' has been established in 1997 and can be found in a beautiful location at the foot of the Likodimo mountain, sat in unspoilt and tranquil countryside. We are surrounded by olive trees with an astounding view across the sea to the Mani mountains. The beach and village of Chrani are approximately 1 km away.
The instructor about herself:
From my childhood I have had a love of horses and ride with excitement always . I tried to connect this love with my studies as a social worker and this led to me specialising in riding for the disabled. This was my work including difficult children for many years before I came to Greece.
With the energetic help of Bernhard, my husband and Alexander, our son (born 2004), we have been running our stables with 7 horses and a few dogs and cats.
I am an experienced horse-woman, trained riding and vaulting instructor and a riding therapist for disabled people. So I can offer you a various programme with the horses. First of all I would like to let you participate in my love for our four legged friends and the beautiful landscape of Greece.
All of our 7 horses were born and reared in Greece. The native breed, called Dopia, has been used here in farming and for transport since ancient times.
Our 3 mature horses, Mira, Perry and Amigo are Greek Arravani horses (about 14 hands) and are naturally gaited. They have lots of experience, both in and out of the arena, and are very easy to ride.
Dschingis Khan and Lea can walk, trot and canter. With a height of more than 14 hands they are our sturdy, heavy-duty horses. Spirited Dschingis is fun for experienced riders, while this summer will be Leas first season.
All of our horses are steady, sure-footed and reliable, which makes them perfect for children and adults (up to 95kgs/200lbs/18 stone), whether beginners or experienced riders.
